Overview
VLS-200 delivers 1920×1080p 60 Hz high-definition 3D laparoscopy through a high-quality 10 mm scope available at 0° and 30°.
The MIDAS I main unit is a true all-in-one system: camera control unit, light source and recorder in a single chassis with a user-friendly GUI, binocular disparity control, bright LED illumination and multiple video outputs (HDMI, HD-SDI left and right). The camera head is small and light with user-friendly key buttons, so it stays comfortable through long procedures.
Depth perception from the stereoscopic image allows more accurate and precise operation with natural colour, a short learning curve and no dizziness on long operations — the 3D advantages of robot-assisted surgery, but with the surgeon's own haptics preserved.
Key features
MIDAS I all-in-one main unit
CCU, light source and recorder in one chassis with user-friendly GUI.
Binocular disparity control
On-screen adjustment after scope replacement, no tools required.
Various video outputs
HDMI and HD-SDI (L) / SDI (R) for integration with OR displays and recording.
Crystal clear 3D image
Full-HD at 60 frames through a high-quality 3D laparoscope (0°, 30°).
Small and light camera head
User-friendly key buttons on the camera head for in-field control.
3D Console Monitor (optional)
The world's first console 3D monitor — no 3D glasses required, distortion-free, Full-HD per eye.
Kim's Console (optional)
Patented console 3D monitor; safer than robot-assisted operation without manipulating a heavy arm.
Kim's Chair (optional)
Fully adjustable backrest and armrests with superior pedal access for stable clinical performance.
Clinical indications
General surgery (gastrectomy, cholecystectomy, hepatectomy, gastric bypass, colectomy, pancreatectomy, adrenalectomy, small bowel resection, rectal and bariatric surgery, splenectomy, common bile duct surgery); cardiothoracic surgery (lung cancer, pulmonary emphysema, oesophageal cancer and stenosis, chest wall tumour, cardiac surgery); obstetrics and gynaecology (hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, myomectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy, pelvic lymph node dissection); urology (nephrectomy, renal cystectomy, pelvic reconstruction, prostate tumour).
Why this device
Human-touch 3D laparoscopy: depth perception complements the shortcomings of 2D, while the surgeon's direct haptics complement the shortcomings of robot-assisted surgery — precise, safe and with fewer medical accidents.
